The evidence now being read, showed that the defendant had not rented the premises from. the plaintiff during the time for which the rent was ! claimed. Defendant pleaded guilty, but alleged that the persons in the house were travellers, and had insisted upon being supplied, with liquor. It appeared that this was the se? cqnd occasion on which the defendant had been guilty of breaches of the Licensing Ordinance. Eined 405., and ss. 6dL costs,; Hjbrring v. Wm. Hemming.—Claim, £6 17s. 6d. No appearance of defendant. Judgment for amount claimed and coßts. Hjorring v. James Curtis.^—Claim, £1 19s. 6d. Fraud summons. No appearance of defendant. Order for payment within one month; failing payment, imprisonment for fourteen days in Queenstown gaol. The application of Richard Francis, for a slaughtering license, was granted.
