MUNICIPAL COUNCIL.
The usual meeting of the Town Council was held in the Water Works Company's office on Wednesday evening last. Present: His Worship the Mayor, and Crs. Brookes, Craig', Ujorring, i'nder, and de Laatour. The minutes of the previous meeting were read and confirmed. , CORRESPONDENCE. . j Sergeant M'Ciuskey wrote stating that j some.tail.races near the Ballarat Hotel were , dangerous and apparently abandoned, and suggesting that a few loads of stuff should be iiiied in. A similar motion, of which Or. Sjorhi.vg-" harl given notice, relative to Toy-street, was also withdrawn. ACCOUNTS. Notice of motion was given—'' Thab owners of verandahs or larap-posts obstructing foot pith's in Leven-street be notified that within six weeks from the passing of the motion such obstacles be removed."
