PROVINCIAL COUNCIL ITEMS.
On Thursday last, Mr de Lautour asked the Government—" If they will take into their favorable consideration the desirability of reserving along the main lines of roads, where possible, at distances of .about seven miles, blocks of land from 50 to 100 acres for the accommodation of travelling" stock, working bullocks, and waggon horses ?" . Dr Webster replied that the Government would do the best they could in the matter. • Mr de Lautour asked the Secretary for the Goldfields—" Whether a date has yet been fixed for the sale of the township of St. Bathans, and if not, when it is"' proposed to sell the said township ?" Mr Bastings replied that the sale would take place in two months.
