WASTE LANDS BOARD.
(Condensed from the ' Star'.) The weekly meeting of the Board was held last ■week. Present—Messrs Tolmie, Butterworth, Clark, and Thomson. An application from Mr Luks, Waihemo, for the opinion of the Board as to his position with respect to a right granted Sir F. D. Bell to carry a water race through his freehold property, was read and considered. The applicant was referred for advice . to v his own law agent. Mi* S. W. Smith renewed his application to have a water license granted in the Waikouaiti district, the original application having / been made previous to the passing of the Waste Lands Act, 1872. The application was referred to the Government. Messrs Gillies and Street applied, on behalf of Messrs Borton and M'Master, to purchase pighty acres of run 206 for homestead purposes. The application wis made under the 150 th clause of the > Waste Lands Act, 1872. Referred to the District Land Officer.
