Dur wesither and scarcity of water are the leading features of the district this week. 1 His week Mr. Mathew Cooper brought Io pur 9ffiee » weU-grown aud highly flavoured
peach. It has been supposed by many that the JNaseby climate is too severe for the proper maturing of fruit without artificial heat. Mr. Cooper's garden is situated at a considerably higher level than the town. Certainly the fruat shewn us is highly encouraging to those who take the tjoutie to provide good shelter for their gardens. The rumor we gave currency to last week as to Mr. Ilallenstein's probable resignation, tur s out to be without, i'mnlation. We s iI, however, that we did uot vouch for the truth of the statement.
