The ' Herald'' strongly condemns the action .teiken by Mr. Waterhouse. It says thathe knew of the arrangement of Mr. Shephard -.to join the iVliriistry before he-took, office. He was a : party, toall he now objects to, and has been guilty 01 ioui piay in talcing a most inopportune moment to announce his resignation, when his colleagues are absent. He has over estimated his own importance';' Mr. Stafford's prediction, that Mr. Vogei would regret making Mr. Waterhouse premier, has been verified. The ' Southren Cross ' says that most members of the House knew before the end of the session that Mr. Hall's health would compel him to resign. Mr. Waterhouse's reputation, and not the Ministry, wiLl suifer from this senseless crisis.^—Auckland Paper.
