The latter baulked at the first hurdle, and drew out of the race. Medora walked on, but baulked at the second hurdle, throwing his rider, who remounted and walked round, coming in amid groans of indignation. It was a complete, bare-faced, and clumsily executed swindle. The weather was magnificent, and there were about twelve hundred persons on the ground. . j

In the straight Tambourini jostled Atlas out of the race. Eack Hurdle Eace, of 25 sovs.; distance, twice round the course ; over four flights of hurdles, 3ft. 6iu. high. Four started. Bojeshian won.
