(To the Editor of the Mount Ida. Chronicle.)' Sir,—This auspicious day is to be celebratedin Tuapeka by horse and foot racing, and athletic sports, and in the evening a grand ball is to take place. On all the other' Groldfields of the Province (with the singular exception, of Mount Ida, but in extraordinary keeping; with the li.tlessness md want of energy her mining population have particularly displayed! similar proceedings are being arranged to take: place, to celebrate, in befitting style, the natal, day of the patron saint of the Emerald Isle.. Irishmen of Naseby, to the front! Do not delay in making preparation to unfurl our green flag to the breeze, and so celebrate in a. becoming manner, and with duo decorum and. spirit, the I7t;h of ol d Ireland.
