WASTE LANDS BOARD.
(Condensed from the' Daily Times.') The usual weekly meeting of the Waste Lands Board was'held last weelc. There were present—The Chief Commissioner (Mr. j. T. Thomson) - in the cliair, and Messrs Tolinie and Buttenvorth. The Rev. A. Dascnt applied to have a part of the UnionCluirch K eserve, Nnseby, set aside for the Church of England, it was resolved that the application be referred to the■ 'original promoters of the Union Church io know if they had any objection, and also to Ihe Warden to report whether the giving of the land would interfere with the sludge ehinnel. The Town Clerk of Clyde requested that the Board' would not grant the "bridge site at Clyde to any bub the Town Council. It was resolved to. minuie the fact of Ihe application. *., Mr. Warden Robinson reported, recommending the sale to Messrs Sanders of 80 icres 011 Run No. 2Q6d. It was .resolved that Messrs Sanders' application be granted. ; The application of the Secretary to the Progress Committee, St. Bathans, to have the town .surveyed and offered for sale was referred to the Warden, to report upon. Mr. Samuel Symonds, Secretary to the Arrow Miners' Association, applied thab that Association might be allowed to choose a section in Arrow town a«s a site for a Miners' Instilutej The matter was referred to the Government.
On' the application of Messrs Co'nnell & Moodie, ib was resolved to grant a coal lease to Mr. W. A. Low, on the usual forms, the area to be surveyed by the Dis'r'ct, Surveyor.
