Thiers, who is unwell, threatens to resign; the Presidency unless ho receives a larger vote of confidence. November 21. The Colonial wool sales opened to-day, and the b ddings commenced with great spirit. Upwards of 4,000 bales were offered, Capei preponderating. The best combing were eagerly competed for—price, 2d. higher. Clothing wool was in fair demand at an advance of Id. -ajV Viscount Canterbury has been created as. earl. It is rumored that Weld is to succeed Fergusßon as Governor of South Australia. November 23. 50,000 bales were offered at the Colonial wool sales to-day, and an advance of Id. to 2d» established. King Amadeus of :Spain is seriously ill. There have been further large fires n America. Thiers consents to the adoption of Parliamentary Government, with Ministerial w responsibility..
