Besident Magistbate's Cottot. (Before E. H. Carew, Esq., K.M.) There was no business in this Court, with, the exception of an application for a billiard license by Mr. Samuel Hanger, and which, was granted. "Warder's Court. (Before E. H. Carew, Esq., Warden.) Three charges, brought by Constable Morton against Chinese miners—Ah Yu, Ah. Sa, and Ah Chong—were disposed of by tha dsfeada. Nts being fined Is. each and costs of C met, 113. It was made to appear fckit tai3e men were late arrivals in tna district* and when spoken to by the coaseable about miners' rights, admitted tfofc.thjjy bad none, but said they would ob'ala fchsai as soon as they could earn &.» jl tj. if tj lo so. They had shortly
afterwards borrowed money, "with which they acquired the necessary documents. The following applications were granted: —James Barclay, protection for claim; Samuel Sutherland and others, protection for claim and tail race; Enterprise Company, Registered, protection for claim; Barron and another, extended claim; Sutherlandand another, tail race; Patrick Talty, protection for claim; Morgan and another, extended claim ; Talty and another, extended claim ; Gr. H. Smith, dam; William M'Davitt, protection; Mann Wade, protection to a claim and tail race; Wade and another, protection to claim; Trayton Potter, protection to claim; Enterprise Company, Registered, protection to claim.
The Warden gave notice that lie would hold fortnightly Courts, commencing on Tuesday, the 19th Nov.
