The highest price given for one of Mr. Millward's ponies this year was. I3ogs. several fetched lOOgs. The fastest amateur time for walking seven miles is 55m. 30s. by Mr. T Griffith. The fastest four mili-s (running), 20m. 38s. -by Mr. J, Scott of the London A. C.
The (frand Prix de -Paris was run tor on Sunday, June 9; the value of: the whole was L 5528 ; the (1 mile and 7 furlongs) was run in 3m. 19s.
It is stated in the ' Sporting Life' that 13 rot her to Flurry was backed by tlie Pvfield division to win close on£loo,ooo. The colt's merits were only discovered a day or two before the Derby in a trial. . Fordbam did not ride in the Derby owing to the accident to Winslow:
