Religious Statistics. At the Brooklyn Methodist Episcopal Church Conference held on' May 8, the religious statistics fbr America were submitted : —Methodists, 6,533,209; Baptists, regular, 8,997,-116; Baptists, others, 363,019; Presbyterians, regular, 2,198,900 j "Presbyterians, others, 492,344 ; Roman 'Catholics, i4; Congregationalism, 1,117,21?; Lutherans, 997,832; Episcopal, 991,051. . It is gratifying to learn that the Private Petitions Committees of both Houses have reported favorably regarding Mr. Smythies' application for re-adnnssion to legal practice. We are further informed that £ Bill is to be introduced with the object of granting compensation to Mr. Smythies and his son (Sir. H. W. Smythies) for lossr sustained by them in vthe• establish their rights. ' Cromwell Argus.'
