MUNICIPALITY MEETING.
One of the largest meetingrs that we .have in Naseby took placo on the evening of Wednesday last, in the Union Church", to discuss the question of Corporation or , non-Corporation. Mr.AV\ Inder in the chair. "' The matter.was well and ably introduced by the Chairman, who read various papers showing the advantages, to be reaped from Naseby being.declared into a Municipality. ■ _' The first resolution was proposed by a Mr. Piers, who in strong language denounced the movement as certain to. prove antagonistic to- the interest of miners, and finished his oratio" (which was seconded by a Mr. Hobson). with a resolution to the effect that the meeting be adjourned sin die. Considerable discussion followed, in which Mr. Matthew Cooper spoke, against, and Mr. Petchell in. favor of, the movement. -'. ' An amendment, proposed by. Mr. Hertslet- and seconded by.Mr. E.,T. Greorge, to the following effect ■.. as put by the Chairman to the meeting, and declared carried : —" That, in the opinion of this meeting, immediate steps should be taken to have the town of
