THE CATHOLIC SCHOOL.

(To the Editor of the Mount iDa Chronicle.) St. Bathans, July 23, 1872. _ some information regarding education may ;be interesting to many parents, readers of your valuable paper, I trust .you will be so'kind as to give publicityto .the following:— On Monday last, the 13th instant, I was engaged' in the inspection of the private school in connection with St. Patrick's Church of JSTaseby; subjecting the boys and girls to a close and even severe examination in their several studies. The answering of scholars in the various classes was very satisfactory. The careful and painstaking inspection to which the school was subjected, proved unmistakeably the careful supervision and the great ability 'of Mr. Peter 1 Morony as -a teacher of youth. The school is divided into four classes. The answering of the children in reading, spelling, grammar, geography, arithmetic, etc., was most accurate. Even in . the lowest classes (first and second) a perfect knowledge of the subjects taught was observable. In the third and-fourth classes the writing was clean and finished'; in the fourth class, the reading smooth and polished, emphasis and intonation-perfect.- j Suffice it to say, Mr. Editor,, that .the questions and and answers, were reflective of credit on children and master, and that they elicited my approval. From the, gentlemen examiners with me I heard 1 nothing but praise. . _

.Excuse-the haste of this, as lam kept busy by mission work—l am, &c./. - Emmanuel Hoxee, ' Catholic Pastor.
