Resident Magistbate's Couet. (Before H. W. Robinson, Esq., R.M.) Reid v. Inder.—This was a case of agsault at Hill's Creek. The complainant (Mrs. Eeid), a well known individual in the neighborhood, charged defendant with having assaulted her on the 18th March last.. It appeared that complainant came into defendant's house in a state of intoxication, and used very foul language towards both defendant and his wife, when the alleged assault took place by her being turned out of the house. Case dismissed.
Inder v. Heid.—Using obscene language. The tables were now turned, the defendant being charged with using obscene and abusive language in the plaintiff's licensed house towards his wife. The result was that defendant was fined £5 and costs £l, or fourteen days' hard labor in ISaseby gaol. She elected to suffer the imprisonment, but on the following morn* ing, on her way to N&aebj, paid the amount.
