ST. BATHANS.—Dec. 15.

Resident Magistbates's Court. (before E. H. Carew, Esq., R.M.) Peacock v. M'Eanany.—Claim for £37 6s. 3d. Judgment, by consent, for amount claimed and costs. . Keenan and another v. M'Eanany.— Claim for £4l Debt admitted. Judgment for £4l, and costs 225. Several applications for the usual extension of the hours for selling and keeping open the hotels during the Christmas holidays were granted.

Warden's Coubt. (Before E. H. Carew, Esq., Warden.) The following applications were granted:—Extended claim and tail race, Ah Sara and others ; extended claim and protection, Patrick Toomey; extended claim, Garty and another; water race, dam, extended claim, and tail race, James Duff; protection for claim, W. M. Wade; extended claim, John S. Foote.

The application of John and James Hally for a tail race through Smoker's Flat, to which objections had been made at the last sitting, was granted, subject to the condition that not less than two men be at all times employed in the construction of the race until completed. In the application of Michael Fahey for a water race to divert water from the Dunstan Creek to B ue Gully there were two objections. Mr. J. C. Chappie of Alexandra, appeared for the applicant, and Messrs. Purton and Brown for the objectors. The principal objection appeared to be that it would be impolitic on public grounds to make a grant. The case occupied a considerable time in hearing, and the Warden said that he would give his decision at the next sitting of the Court, on the 29th instant*

Mining lease applications by George Purton and others,, and, by the Scandinavian Company were ordered to stand over for survey.

James CoUingjwood's application for a water race from Flume Gully was refused.
