Grand Stand Handicap, of 100 Sovs. Distance, two miles Nominations, of £2 25., to be lodged with the Secretary, Victoria Hotel, not later than eight p. m. on Wednesday, 20th December. Weights to be declared in the " Mount Ida Chronicle " of 22nd December, and '' Otago Daily Times" of 25th December. Acceptances, with £3 3s. enclosed, must be lodged with the Secretary not later than six p. m, on 9th January, 1872, the night of general entry.

Acceptances, with £3 3s. enclosed, to be lodged with the Secretary not later than 10 a.m. of 11th January, 1872. Free Handicap, of 50 Sovs. Weights to be declared on the Course. Acceptances, of £2 25., with Sweep of £1 Is. added. Second horse to save his stake. Distance, one and a quarter mile.

Consolation Handicap, of 25 Sovs. Distance, one mile. Post entry. £1 Is. Selling Race, for £2O. Winner to be sold for £lO. Surplus to go to the Club. No weight under Sst. 71b. Distance, three quarters of a mile. Post entry, £1 Is.

RULES AND REGULATIONS. Mares and Geldings allowed 31bs. No entries will be received for any of the above races, except upon this condition, that all disputes, claims, and objections arising out of the racing shall be decided by the Stewards, or whom they may appoint. There decision upon all points shall be final, No person shall be allowed to enter or run a horse for any race in this programme—Post Entry races excepted— unless a subscriber not less than £2 2s. to the Race Fund. Entries to be received by the Secretary, at the Victoria Hotel, Mount Ida, before 6 p.m. on 9th January, 1872,—entrance money enclosed, with name, age, pedigree (if any) of the horse, name of the owner, and color of the rider. Any jockey riding, except in colora entered, will be fined £1 la. ' Five per cent, deducted from the gross amount of ull stakes for expenses. Horses walking over will receive 50percent, of the stakes. The Mount Ida Jockey Club rules will be strictly enforced. Any person entering a protest will have to deposit £2 ; and should such protest be deemed frivolous by the stewards, will have to forfeit the same.
