THE UNION CHURCH.
(To the Editor of the Mount Ida Chronicle.)
Sib, —Can you inform that portion of you readers who attend the Union Church whether that place of worship is under the charge of a paid sexton ? If so, is dusting the seats a part of his duty ? The reason for this enquiry is so manifest that it would be superflous to name it. The filthy state of the seats has frequently been a matter for comment; but their condition last Sunday morning awakened disgust rather than comment, especially to those who had the misfortune to appear in dark clothing. I may remark, Sir, in concluding, that he is evidently no believer in the adage that " cleanliness is next to godliness." Hoping my remarks will lead to an improvement, I am, &c, A Suffekeh,.
