JS'ewspaper editors, like police magistrates, are in the habit of receiving extraordinary applications, JSot often, however, d > they get such a specimen as the following, for the genuineness of which the editor of the ' Li-eds Express ' gives his voucher. It is dated from a village near Leeds, and except the name and address is printed exactly as written:— 2th February, 18/1. please sir i want to know i you can get a family to tome into the country we cau send by tiie carrier ihree times a week tuesd.iys thursdays and Saturdays can you get us a child to nurse i am not petliey [r'particularj to the age it will get well atteuded to i will pay you for your trouble when you get one we can do with both we are use to children, please will you let us know weather you can get me one.
