KYEBURN.
(From our own Correspondent.) The coal pita are still occuping public attention. The matter id as far from being settled as ever. It appears that <Jne of the firm of Browu, Colliugwood and Co. had another interview with Messrs. Sanders—the ruuhoJdens—on the subject of granting the lease. It had been represented to Messrs. .Sanders that, if the lease were granted to the new applicants, it would prevent Messrs. M k Credie Bros, from workm* ttie lease already granted, it was for this reason that tie Messrs. Wauders refused to grant a lease to Brown, Coliingwood and Co. This firm provided themselves with professional assistance, and endeavored to explain to Lie runholders that the '•ranting of the lease would uot atiect the proper working of MCredi.'s' pit. Messrs. (Sunders explained thai; if the G-overument surveyor at .Suseby was satisfied tnat such was the case he would no louder object to the grantiug of tue lease. ' This ' has put the matter in a tar more satisfactory light, and shows that Messrs. Wandew' object was merely to do justice to a-1 parties. A. surveyor will, therefore, be employed by both parties, who will inspect tiie ground and report upon the matter to the run holder, wiio will then use his prerogative. The laws res pi vi in 4 the' mineral resources of tue P.oviuee are evidently in a very unsatisfactory state.
