ARRIVAL OF THE ENGLISH MAIL VIA SAN FRANCISCO.
IMPORTANT 'NEWS., THEEATENIXG ATTITUDE OF RUSSIA. PARIS STILL HOLDS OUT. We have been informed that the English mail news, via San Francisco, was received in Dunedin 011 Monday evening last. We have not yet seen aii extra, but we learn that the Russian fleet is off the Dardanelles, with the object of threatening Constantinople (?) A treaty has been entered -into between England, France, Austria, and Italy. The Prussian foreeß have not gained any material advantages before Paris. The French long range suns are verv effective.
The Prussians are kept from coming within range. Great scarcity of food among the Prussians.
The Prussians have met with several reverses fronv-tbe French' Army of the Loire.
