NASEBY IMPROVEMENTS.
The improved appearance of this town must strike everybody with'.pleasure ana surprise. Within the last few months much has been accomplished hi the. way. of improvement?, many undoubtedly of a permanent nature, arid at the same time conducive to the health and convenience of the residents. . Not the least* '* valuable among these is the kerbing. channel-? ling, and formation of LevienT^treet—the "principal thoroughfare—all of which are on the 5 eve of and vrill make that street as fine a one as is to be met withiin* any of£the Goldlielda towns. We must not, when speaking of the street, omit t to mention the new verandah in front of ilr. L. W/lhiadfs store, which is" certainly the finest/ best, an\i mostk capacious in the towiislnpV • '?Tliose awkward* drops opposite the premises of .Messrs. (Jason, llarper, and Keenun, which were'at one time the/dread of all persons compelled to dp their.; shopping, after dark, are now become niattlr/ of local history._ Again, the old building known asßotting's butcher's pnbp'ds l>ei^gn'ow ; rl^ s placed by new and ample*premises erected on the same site Hy the pi*eseut proprietor, Hr C. Tfe JLautour. Last, -but not least; abbut to possess a new hotel, to-all'appear-likely to 'equal in size and acconiniocla-" tion any at present in the township. < Tho natne, too,, of tnia new hotel is significant of what it is intended, and should be expectedto* be. When we mention that the hotel is to be called the, Criterion; the public have a right to expect the inauguration of a new era iu ; Hogburn hotel-kee'ping. On the whole, therefore; when we take into consideration the success~"of tlie .Naseby Water Works Company for ifce supply of water for the use of -the residents, and the existence of an effective Fire Brigade to render that element available in case of" accident by fire, we feel we are justified in congratulating the people of Naseby on the oaI ward progress of their town. r 5 A post niorte-Hir examination of the body of X)r.'WitherSviis; of IpwaV.wa6 use.il a hair-dye drews'laif daily : i«r"years,, has revealeiithe'fat-t;.thatlead was ill the liver and kidneys ; and tHe medical, exaniiners reported thair it came from 1 thejiairrdye through the tissues of the body/,./ ; \ '' ./;;" ; ''_""' I ''■ .
