THE SUTTON REEF.

Wel-earn that 30 cwt. of stone/taken as it came, we believe, withoiit iany special selection, from the Bicaspli reef* at the Sutton, Strathtaieri, was forwarded to the puke of Edinburgh quartz crushing machine, Macraes, last week, and its auriferous. character favorably ,solved;by being crushed. The quantity of stone tested yielded 3 ozs. 12 dwts. of retorted gold, or at the rate of 2 ozs. 8 dwts.' per ton. Since the .- previous trial,, wjiich was,somewhat less satisfactory in results, this , reef has changed its appearance* and gets better the deeper it goes.' It is now six feet' thick, and with such favorable inducements -is ' probable - Messrs.'
