RESIDENT MAGISTRATE'S COURT.

John Tait, John Cogan, John Napier, Greorge A. Chapman, and /Mary Bolls, publicans, were summoned by John sergeant of police, for a breach of the 32nd clause of the Licensing Ordinance—i.e., keeping their houses open after 12 o'clock at night. They, severally pleaded guilty ; and as Sergeant-Major Moore informed the Bench that the police had no wish to press the charge, it -being the first offence, they were each fined in the mitigated penalty of ss. and costs.. MoroAYj June 13i John Cockroft and Patrick Mulcahey were brought up on a charge of drunken and disorderly conduct, very early on Sunday morning last. Both prisoners having pleaded guilty, the Bench fined the former 295. and the latter 10s;
