The Magistrate stated that as it was not competent fo.- him to deal with the case, except on the certificate ot two medical practitioners, he must remand the case to Waikouaiti for further medical testimony. Frederick William David Jones and Caroline Janet nones, two children of Elisabeth Jones, were then charged with beinoneglected children within the meaning o± the provisions of the Neglected and Criminal Act, 1865. Sergeant Major Moore stated children had been found with their mother, wandering about without anj visible means of support, and that there father resided at Waikouaiti. The Magistrate remanded the case to Waikouaiti for hearing, as the circumstances of the parents wculd be better known there. 'Thursday, Masch 3, 1870. Breinner Bros. v. George Weiss. — Claim for £3 13s. lid. No appearance of defendant. Judgment for full amount, and costs 6s.
