NOTICE TO CORRESPONDENTS.
John "Watson.—Your letter is not,. as you state it to be, a " correction" of the report of the case Watson v. "Watson, which appeared in the last issue of the ' Chronicle,' but rather an attempt to justify your own conduc f , and impugn the judgment of the Court. However hard your case may be, and is universally admitted to be, we do not feel disposed to re-open, in a public journal, a question which has been dealt with magisterially. Had our report been in any way incorrect, we should have had much pleasure in rectifying it. Such, however, not being the case, we cannot see any good effect which would result from the publication of your letter. SiiAifflßOCE:.—You are in error. There has been no new law passed relative to raffles, and the cautions which have appeared in the papers are mere reprints of a clause in the Town and Country Police Ordinance, 18S6.
