CHILD REN’S CONCERT AND PRIZE-GIVING. There was a good attendance at (lie ALa,sonic Hall last night on the occasion of the Salvation Army Sunday School concert and prizegiving. The programme was a lengthy and varied one and reflected credit upon Ensign Smith, Captain Neary and Miss Ella Hutchins who coached the children. Every item was well received and the children as a whole acquitted lheniselv.es very well indeed. The ont.v diversion from the juvenile ifems was a. humorous song by Mr. 0. F. Smith who responded to an undeniable encore by reciting a oiiple of original verses which had allusion to the two ofiileers-in- ( barge. A large Christinas tree, laden with parcels found ready purchasers. At the conclusion of tiie concert programme the Sunday School prizes were distributed by Mr. .). K. Hornblow. Ensign Smith thanked all who had assisted to make the function such a success and conveyed the season’s greeting* to all. The programme was ns follows: —■ .(Company songs of the children; recitation by' May Walibutton; dialogues by several boys and girls; solos by Miss <J. Hobbs, Allan and Laurie Coley; action songs, “Coloured Fairies” and “No .Jolke to he a Baby;” duet, “The Lily and the Rose” by Ada Irwin and Marjorie Bills; pianoforte duet by Nina and Violet Botnroir and a pianoforte solo by Nina Beta roil and a tableau, “Memories:” The accompaniments were played by Misses Ella Hutchins and Patterson.
