MANAWATU-OBOUA RIVER BOARD CLASSIFICATION.
(To the Editor). Sir, —-Tlift classification of the Manawatu-Oroua District is now open for inspection at the office of l lie Board, 47a Jiangitikei Street, I'almerston North ,and will remain I here for inspection until the 3.lst of December, 1930. t hope ratepayers will inspect the list, anti make themselves acquainted with the elassilication. Every person who objects to any part of the classification MUST put in an objection to the Clerk of the Court at Palmerston North in writing hv the 7lh of January, 1931. 1 wish to emphasise this because even if the Board agrees to an amendment it can only be carried into effect if an objection has (been lodged as above. The Board does not want any rate-payer to be debarred from having any objection heard or any mistake rectified. Yours, etc., W. S. CARTER, Chairman of the Board. ) - — — ■f Sir, —<1 understand the Koxton Cycling and Athletic Club has in hand a sum in the vicinity of .630. Now, Sir, 1 understand that enthusiasm in this Club has waned to such an extent that it has been impossible on more'thaii one occasion to obtain a sufficient number ■to bold a meeting to pass one or two small accounts! outstanding. The money riased on behalf of the Club was obtained chiefly through the efforts of some of those now finding' it-Jiavd bo make both ends meet. Would it not be a desirable thing, under the circumstances, to ask the (Club to wind up its affairs and hand the money over to the local unemployed committee so that some good may be done. It would, 1 understand, carry a subsidy. Yours, etc., INTERESTED.
