BOWLING CLUB EVENING
On Thursday a most enjoyable social evening wtts held at the residence of Mr. and Mrs. F. Woods, •Russell .street, bv the Foxton Bowling Club. There was a good attendance; visitors being present from Levin, Shannon, and Tokonsaru. The evening was spent with <nrds and dancing, the dance music being supplied by Misses N. Woods, N. Robinson, I). Webb, and Messrs .). Newton and L. Mattar. During the evening novelty dances wore won as follows: —-Monte Carlo: Mr. J. Newton and Miss E. Tilv and Mr. Wright, and Mrs. J. Procter; spot waltz:. Mr. W. B. Barber and Miss J. Stevenson. (Competitions were won by Messrs TV. Goodwin, R. Warwick and M. Sultan. The winners of the 500 tournament were Mrs. Pen-eau and Mr. I Bastion, Mrs. Cl. Scaddeu and Alv. J. lioss, removing the booby prizes. A tasty supper was handed round by members of the Bowling Club. After presenting the prizes, Mr. ,1. M. Thomson (president] thanked Mr. and Mrs. Woods for their generosity in placing their residence at the disposal of the Bowling Club land also (including Miss Woods and Mr. Woods jiuir.) for their able assistance as hosts ami hostesses of the evening, ille called for three cheers, which were heartily given.
