PRESBYTERIAN CHURCH.

ANNUAL CONGREGATIONAL MEETING.

The. annual congregational meeting of the Foxton charge'was held on Tuesday evening. There was a large attendance of members. The Re;y. G. T. Brown, ALA., presided. Apologies were received from Alessrs J. K-. Tlornblow, Janies Ross and others.

The session report was read by the minister, Rev. W. H. Nicholas, which made special reference to the work of the ladies of the congregation and that of the iSabbath school: teachers and Rflblje> Class leaders.

The secretary of the committee, Air. A. F. Stevenson, read the report of the year’s work.

The treasurer, Mr. D. R. Barron, gave the financial report for the year ending 31/10/30 (being 10 months). ‘The report, and balance-sheet of the Ladies’ Guild showed the effective work done by them during the year.

The P.W'.M'.AV. reported having sent a number' of parcels to the Alaori Afission Field, but owing to smallness of membership had not helped in other ways. The chairman congratulated the congregation and minister on the g l, od work done during the sixteen months. He said that few churches could make a better showing at the present time, and lie trusted that l hough there was to be a change in the pastorate in the near future, they Would continue to work together as harmoniously as they bad done under Mr. Nicholas. He prayed that God’s blessing would rest upon them as they faced the t ew church year.

The retiring committee were reelected with the addition of the name ot Air. Clark \ 7 otes of (hanks to the ladies of the congregation, the ladies guild, the P.W.M.F., the Sunday school teachers, ami Biblec.lass leaders and •I*** Rev. and Airs. Nicholas were proposed by Air. Barron and secoiided by Air. Stevenson and carried unanimously. •Mr. J. Ross proposed a hearty vote of thanks to Rev. G. Brown, who presided. This was carried by acclamation. The meeting was. then closed with the' Benediction and a social half hour - was spent in the schoolroom.
