Dr. Dornier, while in England last week, arranged for her equipment with eight ytlO'-horse-power Polls Boyce engines to replace the twelve (iUO-horse-power engines at present installed. He calculates that the removal of two pairs of tandem engines will give an increased performance owing to lessened resistance. The Do. X. when she was first built, was fitted with twelve Bristol Juppiter engines in. six pairs in tandem. These were replaced by twelve Curtiss Conqueror engines, vs Iso in tandem, pairs, and with this she is at present equipped. The Bolls Boyce single engines will therefore represent the third set of ngines.. tried..
