Yesterday Major 0. A. >O. Cowpor, of Hawera, accompanied by Messrs Spviigge and A. .W,ay» Directors of ;t Commercial Aviation Company, visited Fox lon lor the purpose of inspecting' the locality for a. suitable landing ground ui connection with a passenger service between Taranaki and the capital city. In conversation with our representative, .Major Cowper said that Ids company had recently organised a passenger and commercial service between New Plymouth .and Wellington .and ns Foxlon was on the air route it was intended to call in here for passengers us required. Trips had already been made between the two points' mentioned .and a regular service once weekly was in operation. The machine, which b.v the wav, is one of the latest monoplanes of the sedan type, would not call in here regularly, but onlv (o pick up passengers, which fact could he signalled lo the airmen from the ground. Major Cowper intends living his machine down to Foxtqn during Hie next week or so, when he will definitely decide on a landing ground which, in all probability, will be located in the old river-bed at the seaside.
