THE FLAXMILLING TROUBLE.
UNION EXECUTIVE MEET TO-DAY. Mr. it. N. Shaw lias received the following reply from the ActingPrime Minister to his telegram forwarded last week: “With reference to your communication, 1 have llieen hi close conference with the Hon. Minister of Labour in regard to certain aspects of the unemployment diflicully and regret I am not yet in a position to send you a definite, lieply. 1 shall communicate with von as soon as .possible. (Sgd.) E. A. Ransom.” The .request made to the Union by the delegate appointed at the meeting of Jiaxworkers held locally last week, which the Union secretary refused to comply with on the grounds that it had been forwarded by an unlinaui-iai member was again sent forward during- the week, this lime by Mr. D. Ell wood, a linancial member of the Union, and Mr. Ell wood bas now received a reply from Mr. I’. T. Robinson informing him that the matter will t.iiii' be dealt with aiul intimating that a meeting of the executive of the Manawatu Elaxworkers’ Union will lie held to-day (Saturday) to discuss the resolution.
