Tlie charge for a three-minute •wireless telephone conversation between New Zealand and Australia has ibeen fixed at £3, according to a statement made recently by the secretary of the Post and Telegraph .Department, Mr. G. McNamara. Experiments in the direction of perfecting the system are still proceeding, and as soon as these,, are complete the service will lie established. Mir. A. E. iWilliams, of New Plymouth, has recently had returned to him a sovereign ease (containing two sovereigns and a half sovereign) which he lost seven and ■ a-half years ago on a property then occupied by him. The present owner of the property was grubbing gorse when lie found the articles which had, of course, long since been regarded as irretrievably lost.
