A Wanganui wireless enthusiast overheard a conversation between Wing - Comimmder Kingsford Smith and Colonel Lindberg, which took place “on the air” between Sydney and America in the early hours of Friday morning (New Zealand time). Kingsford (Smith was heard to slate that liis ’plane was for sale, that lie had given up distance Hying, and that he was contemplating the establishment of a 12-dav service between Sydney and London. The trip would be accomplished in eight relays, utilising eight machines and eight pilots.
