ALLEGED FALSE PRETENCES
PliflUtOL MAKING FORMULA. Auckland, Nov. 2. Gordon Dougall (Crawford (23) a chemist’s assistant, who some months ago claimed to have a formula and process for making motor spirit, was arrested in Sydney yesterday on a warrant issued in Auckland. It is alleged he obtained from the agent of New Zealand. Petrol iC'o., LUI., a. sum of £IOO by the false pretence that he was selling to the company a formula and process for manufacturing motor spirit, such process and formula being valueless. The company was formed some months ago and for a brief period there was a boom in its shares.
