OBITUARY.
.MRS. .JAMES SYMONS,
The dentil lias occurred at Walk worth, near Auckland, of Mrs dames Symons, daughter of tlie late .Mr. T. U. Cook, one of the earliest settlers of the Manawalu distirict. The deceased lady, who was over (it) years of age, was horn in h'oxton, arid was married lo Mr. dames Symons, who was also a native of this town. l''or some years Mrs. Symons resided ‘with her husband at Hustings, but following his demise, site removed to Auckland, and during the past: fouir years had been residing with her married daughter Phoebe, in Sydney. The late Mrs. Symons recently arrived in New Zealand on a. visit to her .brother, who is I lie (proprietor of the Warkworth newspaper. iSiie had been in delicate health for three years and it was hoped that the change would prove beneficial to her health, but death intervened. Mrs. YV. J.
. Prouse, .wife of the well-known Wellington architect, is a daughter ot the deceased, and is better known on the concert platform as Miss Ava Symons, a talented violinist.
