BOWLING.
Yesterday afternoon Shannon Bowling Club opened their green for the season, when visiting rinks were present from Terrace End and Poxton. The weather was very unfavourable for 'play, but nevertheless a game was played, the results being- as follow: — IPoxton: Seadden, Robinson, Dcakin, Walker (s) 26; Shannon: G. Hook, Terry, Mason, Roach (s) 14. Terrace End: Hine, McLauchlan, Collier, Wart (s) 19, Shannon: Hyde, Collins, Grey Knowles (s) 15. ’ 'Shannon: Pell, IT. Hook, Downes, Clayton (s) 21; Poxton: Hamer, Walton, Hinds, Christie (s) 19. In this game the scores stood at 19 all on the twenty-first head, and a deciding head being played, the home team secured the decision by two points. The visitors were hospitably entertained, and before departing Mi’. Christie tendered the thanks of the visitors which was endorsed by Terrace End players. Owing to the boisterous weather the rink which proposed going to Bulls yesterday afternoon postponed the visit.
