About fifty of them met at Wellington on Friday and presented Mr. Porter with' a unique framed memento of the close of his career which, with the remarks that accompanied it, showed that the fine play of an .inspiring leader who

lias played for New Zealand on 38 occasions, on 32 of which his side has been successful, has not gone unappreciated. Among the speakers who paid tributes to Porter were Messrs J. Keenan, AY. J. Wallace, K. S. Svenson, J. Molfitt, Harlod Yfurphy, J. J. Goodwin, Percy Chyle, R. R. Horriblow, D. M’Kenzie and T.
