REPLY FROM Mr. .1. LINKLATER. .M.r*. The following telegram was received yesterday by the Mayor in reference to the resolution passed a I Tuesday’s meeting held lo consider the unemployment position: —“Am doing what is possible in the direction indicated by your resolution. 1 have interviewed the Acting-Prime Minister and Minister for Labour and Industries and Commerce, and they have promised to give every consideration ;.i our representntin/ns when the Bill passes the Upper House.”
