Christchurch, Last NightA goods train travelling at 25 miles an hour struck, a motor-car at the Soeklburn level crossing tonight and hurled the car about a chain, throwing it clear o£ the line against the fence. Three persons were in the ear, but only one, James. MeClintoek, of Timaru, was hurt. He suffered head injuries and shock. His condition is satisfactory. The accident occurred at seven o’clock. The driver of the ear saw the crossing keeper’s light too late. He jammed on the brakes ami stopped the car right across the lines. None of the occupants of the ear were thrown oui, but all were badly shaken. The smash occurred on the same crossing at which the tragic .accident resulting in the death of six people occurred on June 10 last.
