BOWLING.

At a meeting of the Committee of the local Club held last evening, ii was decided to arrange for the opening of the local green on Wednesday, October 15th. With the date of opening but six weeks hence, it is necessary that “working bees” be active from now on, and the Committee and green superintendent desire that members generally put in an appearance at the green each week to carry out necessary preparations.

The prospects for the coming season seem very bright. Tt was reported last evening that the green is in excellent condition this year, and should worjlc up well for play throughout the season. Several new members have been proposed, some of whom are experienced players, who should strengthen 'the Club for competition purposes as well as in membership.
