FIVE YEARS FOR WELLINGTON THUGS.

Wellington, Sept. 3. James Martin, Hairy Boyer and William Alexander Matthews, who pleaded guilty last week to robbing two men with violence at Miramar oil the night of August. 10th, were sentenced to-day to five years’ hard labour. His Honour, Sir Michael Myers, said they seemed to 'be quite 1 reckless of what the final result might be when they committed the offence and were fortunate, they were not charged with even a more serious' offence.
