TO CONFER'WTH GOVERNMENT. Professor Gregory, who has ibeen associated with Sir Otto Niemeyer in Australia, arrived from Sydney fey the Ulimaroa, as a guest of the f New Zealand Goivernment. The Acting Premier, Hon. E., A. Ransom, announced that he was now in a position to say that Sir Otto Niemeyer and Prof. Gregory had accepted the invitation extended fey Mr. Forbes, Prime Minister, to ' confer with the Government in connection with the banking, currency and exchange problems of the Dominion. It might be pointed out in this connection, Mr. Ransom said, that the permanent banking legislation of .New Zealand was y largely shaped by the War Regulations, which were still in force, and which were due for replacement by a permanent enactment. The Government was anxious to avail itself of the expert advice of these world-recognised authorities in determining what system should be in operation in the future.
