MISDIRECTED AID
FOOTBALLER WITH INJURY. New Plymouth, August 0. The danger to injured footballers as the result of nttmiiiou by inexperienced persons when medical aid is not available was illustrated at Inglewood yesterdav during a third grade Rugby latch between Inglewood and .Stratford. Two Stratford players collided heavily while running for the ball and one of them, a youth named Reed, slithered serious injuries, his rilis ‘being' broken. Unfortunately those who went to help him diagnosed the injury as loss of wind and insisted on rubbing' and pummelling him, in spite of his appeals to be left alone. ‘Finally it. was realised that his injuries were serious and he was taken to a doctor, who ordered his immediate removal to the Stratford Hospital by ambulance.
