JULY GRADING RETURNS. The grad in f;- returns for hemp, tow, stripper low and stripper slips for the month of July have been issued by the Department of Agriculture as follows: — Ports o.l''. lI.F. The following shows the detailed particulars of the low graded : —- Ports Isl 2nd 3rd Auckland 40 142 20 Wellington 20 10l Foxton Pie ton 32 Bluff Ten hales at Auckland, 11 at Wellington wore condemned. The following shows the number of hales in each grade, the number for the corresponding' period of lasi year (being given in imrcntliesis:—lst grade 02 (115), 2nd grade 133 (401), 3rd grade 02 (IPSJ, condemned 21 (20), a total of 008 bales as against SOo bales graded the same period lasi sear, a decrease of 1.02 bales. Stripper Tow : —There was no stripper tow graded for the moil It of July.

•Stripper Slips: —Eleven bales at tho Bluff were, graded 3rd grade and one hale was condemned. The lot a I number graded was 12 hales as against 58 bales graded the period last year, a decrease of 40 bales.
