The death occurred at. Lower Hutt on Sunday of Lady Hector, widow of the late Sir James Hector, at the age of 81. General Edward Higgins, of the London headquarters of the Salvation Army, will visit New Zealand early next year. He will spend over four mouths in the Dominion. General Iliggins will leave England this month to investigate Salvation Army activities among the uatives in South Africa. After an illness extending over several weeks the death took place on Friday last at the Palmerston North* Hospital of Billy, the five-year-old son of Mr. and Mrs. W. J. Easton, of Shannon. To the sorrowing parents the deepest sympathy of a wide circle of friends will [be extended in their sad loss. The interment took place at the Shannon cemetery on Sunday, Rev. G. A. Young officiating at the graveside.
