The penny used for the toss hi Saturday's test match in Auckland was an Australian one. That and tile whistle were presented by Mr. S. Hollander, the referee, to Mr. M. Kronfeld, President of the Auckland Jfeferees' Association. They are to be suitably engraved. A vote was taken by flic Dcnniston Minei*s’ Union as to whether talkies should Ibe installed in their local picture theatre. The voting was: 249 in favour of selling the present plant, 149 for installing the talkie*. * . '.i
