A Foxton fifteen visited Levin on 'Wednesday, July 16th, and suffered defeat 'by 20 points to nil. FoxUm were unable to Held a strong team, lienee the high score registered against them. Although they were a weak team, they put up a good fight, but were inferior in the serum, and for the most part our backs were too fast for them.
[Foxton kicked off, Levin defending against the sun and a light wind. There was plenty of scrummaging from the start, and Hammond gathered the’ball, and after a good run, transferred to Bateman, who crossed over wide out. Levin Look (possession from tlm kick-off. Coles found the line well down. Pink got possession in the line out, and fell over the line. The kick failed. Half-time sounded a few minutes later with the score — Levin 6, Foxton 0. • Levin kicked off, and the black forwards swept down the held, Kingsbeer scoring. Pentecost's kick just missed. Lcyin U —Foxton 0. The home side again pressed, theMorwards dribbling to their opponents' line, and Coliinge touched down. Pentecost added the major points. Levin 14, Foxton 0. Loose scrummaging ensued round the Foxton 25. From a lineout Pentecost went over. Levin 17, Foxton 0.
.. Free kicks and serums were awarded ' against Levin, Foxton, however, failing to take much advantage. The Black forwards carried the bail down the field, Bateman scoring the final try. The game ended with the scores —Levin 20, Foxton 0. Mr. 3: J. (TOonnor carried the whistle.
